The lower the quantity, the better the windows function in keeping the heat in. Solar heat gain coefficient is rated between 0 and 1. The lower the quantity, the better the window pane is at preventing unwanted warmth from sunlight. In warm climates, you will want the lowest amount  of solar heat gain coefficient you can get, whereas in colder areas, you will want the opposite. Visible transmittance implies how much obvious light a window pane lets in and is also rated between 0 and 1. As the quantity increases so does the amount of light filtering through.
